Introduction

I am graduating in April. If all goes well, that is, which requires me to write a 20-page paper before the end of the semester. I also need to work on my Santa Clause fanfic some more, which has currently been on the backburner with school so close to coming to an actual end. And none of this is to mention all the small, stupid little details that get exacerbated by having ADHD.

So of course, what better way to unwind from all of these writing commitments than to start yet another writing commitment?

Okay, maybe not a commitment, per se, but it is yet another thing taxing my limited brainpower in a time where I probably should be using that brainpower somewhere else. But this seemed like fun and low key enough that I could spare a few cells.

So what exactly is this going to be?

Theoretically, it’s going to be a single-player campaign of Call of Cthulhu, using the Mythic Game Master Emulator to stand in for a Keeper. (Translation: It’s going to be a tabletop RPG (like D&D), but with only one person instead of a group.)

What it’s probably going to turn into is me occasionally using both the Call of Cthulhu and Mythic Game Master Emulator whenever I see fit, but mostly just writing myself into corners like I usually do when I have no plan.

Basically a mess. But hopefully an entertaining one.

Just to clear some things up before we get started:

• I don’t know what I’m doing. This isn’t a pre-planned story or campaign so expect some sudden or weird shifts in the story. Think of this more of a fun experiment than a well-crafted story.
• I’ll explain the rules of the MGME and CoC as they come up. I will try to be aware of that but feel free to leave comments along the lines of “????” if I gloss over anything, and I’ll try to address any confusion.
• Certain things are going to be in different fonts because fonts are cool and now I have half an excuse to use a bunch. Hopefully, they’re also going to help with readability. Hopefully, it will be evident what is what, but again, if any confusion arises, please let me know.
• As of now, anything in a brightly colored font is not my writing. That’s what the Solo RPG Google Docs plugin looks like, and is the main venue for how I’ll be using MGME.

Anyway, I think that’s enough stalling, for now, so let’s get this show started.

P.S. I don’t have a working title for this yet, so I’m just going to label everything “RPG ???”. Open to suggestions!
